I used to live and work in São Paulo, Brazil. In 2011, I moved to Hawai'i and experienced the fusion of my educational and professional experience from Brazil with the cultural and environmentally conscious design paradigm of Hawai'i. 
My design thinking is often inspired by Brazilian modernism. This iconic architectural movement teaches me to value formal simplicity and attention to materiality and detail.
Through my doctoral research, I established an innovative design criterion by exploring and integrating existing concepts related to biophilic design and further applying them to contemporary urban playgrounds. Thereafter, Biophilic Design became an essential part of my design guidelines.
I value sustainable and culturally sensitive design, one that is respectful and sincere to people and places.
